Website
Baltimore's native son, George Herman "Babe" Ruth, AKA,
the "Great Bambino" and the "Sultan of Swat", was
born here in 1895 and raised in the house that now houses the
museum depicting his life. In 1968 the Babe’s home was almost
torn down.
Display of newspaper clips tell how the house saved, and opened to
the public in 1974 as a baseball shrine to the legendary slugger.
The museum stocked with memorabilia from the American icon's fabled
career and exhibits honoring the home town Orioles who play just a
baseball throw away at the city's modern icon reflective of the
game's historic past, Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Sports
