On the National Register of Historic Places, this mansion  is the former residence of Ambassador John Work Garrett and his wife, Alice Warder Garrett. The magnificent Italianate structure is surrounded by twenty-six wooded acres and scenic formal gardens.  Inside the house are more than 50,000 extraordinary and eclectic objects assembled by the Garrett family.  Mon-Fri 10am-3pm; Sat-Sun 1-3pm (last tour)  Admission $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 students.
